Video: Dennis Rodman loses it (again) in CNN interview

It’s unclear whether Dennis Rodman ever had any marbles to lose, but The Worm reached a new level of unglued in a bizarre, rambling interview with CNN live from North Korea on Tuesday.

Rodman is in the reclusive republic (we use republic in the loosest sense that any word has ever been used) with a cast of former NBA stars for a showcase game to celebrate dictator Kim Jong Un’s birthday. Charles Smith, Kenny Anderson, Vin Baker, Doug Christie and Cliff Robinson are among those who also made the trip with Rodman, which has been denounced by essentially anyone in the Western world with the power to denounce things.

Smith and Rodman were interviewed by CNN’s Chris Cuomo, who raised some pointed questions about the ethics involved in the trip. Smith does a far better job in the interview than he did that one time against Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant, but once Rodman starts talking it becomes a complete sideshow.

Is he drunk? Is he high? Is he brainwashed? Watching the video, which you must do, it seems like any and all of those three things are possibilities.

Charles tries to bail Dennis out several times, only to be rebuffed with “N-n-n-n-no I got this.”

And then around the 5;30 mark he goes on a rant more compelling than anything he showed us while paired with Jean-Claude Van Damme in “Double Team.”

“I don’t give a (bleep)! I don’t give a rat’s ass what you think! Look at these guys! They came here!  THEY CAME HERE!”

“LET ME DO THIS! LET ME DO THIS! Let me tell you. People around the world. You’re the guy behind the mic right now. We are the guys here doing our thing. We have to go back to AMERICA and take the abuse. DO YOU SIR have to take the abuse we’re going to take? (A bunch of gibberish). One day this door is going to open because all of these 10 guys here. If we can just open the door a little bit to come here…” (wild gesticulation with unlit cigar before Charles Smith comes to the rescue again).

At this point, it seems like the best-case scenario for this event is no executions.
