After a successful 12-4 regular season where the San Francisco 49ers finished second in their division to the Seattle Seahawks, the team is now ready to make another playoff run. On Sunday, the 49ers took down the Green Bay Packers in a thrilling 23-20 game to advance to the Divisional round of the playoffs.
Everybody knows that San Francisco has a talented team. Last season, the 49ers made a great run to the Super Bowl before getting knocked off by the Baltimore Ravens in the final game. That same team is back for the most part, and I see no reason why they are not one of the favorites to win it all this season.
This week, San Francisco will travel across the country to take on one of the surprise teams in the NFL, the Carolina Panthers. This should be a competitive and physical game featuring two great teams.
Because they did not win their division, the 49ers will probably be on the road throughout the playoffs. Obviously, that is not ideal, but I will not count this team out just because of that. In fact, no team left in the playoffs are looking forward to playing the 49ers, and here are five reasons why.
